Campaign for a Presidential Youth Council Wins in Trenton
TRENTON —Both of President Obama’s campaigns have inspired record-breaking youth engagement in politics, yet Millennials are still very much inactive when it comes to policymaking, since their networks are usually inadequate for effective lobbying. Youth councils are an increasingly popular remedy to this problem at the local and state levels, with governments placing Millennials on them to gain their unique insights on legislation that affects and involves them. Non-Partisan Student Government Conference with Rep. Leonard Lance
WESTFIELD, N.J. --- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) is hosting a student leadership conference on Saturday, May 7 at Governor Livingston High School. Lance is inviting high school students from across the Seventh Congressional District to participate in a morning of hands-on activities and speeches about current events and issues facing the Nation.
“Students across this country, and especially here in New Jersey, are actively engaged in a fascinating presidential election and the many issues and ideas at the center of our national dialogue,” said Lance. “At this conference, students will be put in the role of lawmaker – tasked with balancing the federal budget and reforming tax policy while weighing the priorities of the Nation. All students interested in public policy and politics should participate.”
Lance will oversee an interactive federal budget exercise where students will review current spending and tax policies and suggest priorities for the country through evidence and by applying their own policy interests. Lance and other speakers will also discuss public policy ideas and lessons for students interested in public service.

Tomorrow, more delegates to the U.S. presidential nominating conventions will be won than on any other day in this election cycle; traditionally, presidential candidates must do well on Super Tuesday to secure their party's nomination. 'Preparing to Lead' Convention this Saturday
LIVINGSTON, NJ – The New Jersey High School Democrats (NJHSD), College Democrats of New Jersey (CDNJ), and New Jersey Young Democrats (NJYD) will hold their first joint convention on February 13 at Princeton University Frist Campus Center.
